In 17th Century Holland, Dutch artists became renowned for their intricate and beautiful floral paintings. In this class we are going to explore the process of creating our own floral painting, following in the tradition of the Dutch masters.

 

Building a floral piece was a very labor intensive and time consuming process. We will discuss the process, and look at examples of some of the best works in the genre for inspiration. The instructor will give daily demonstrations to illustrate techniques and methods for painting various flowers, as well as the process for constructing our own floral piece.
