Faigin’s paintings explore his two favorite themes: altering one’s perception of the commonplace and developing mood through intense contrasts of light and dark.

Faigin is the Artistic Director and co-founder of Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. A retrospective of his paintings was presented at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle in 2001; he was featured at the Coos Bay Art Museum in 2008. He has led art tours to Europe for the past 20 years, including most of the important art centers from Budapest to Barcelona. He was the monthly art critic on Seattle’s NPR station, KUOW for ten years, and currently writes art reviews for the Seattle Times. He has also lectured at he Seattle Art Museum.
